Senior Practitioner – Family Safeguarding Team (CV Apply)

Salary : £39,120 - £42,137

Fantastic opportunity to join one of our Family Safeguarding teams as a Senior Practitioner

We pride ourselves on providing social workers with a friendly, safe and supportive environment to work in and are looking for enthusiastic and determined social workers from diverse backgrounds to enhance our existing team.

In February 2020, we launched our Family Safeguarding model. After almost a year with this new style of working, our district is already seeing many great benefits.

These include:
• A reduction in caseloads.
• An opportunity to work positively alongside Adult Practitioners sharing knowledge and resources to produce better outcomes for families.
• A reduction in the number of Children in Care.
• A reduction in Child Protection Plans.
• A productive case contribution from specialist workers (including victims of domestic abuse, individuals engaging in abusive relationship
behaviours, alcohol and substance misuse specialists, and mental health support workers).
• Joint monthly discussions with all those working directly with families.
• An opportunity to undertake Motivational Interview Training.

We are dedicated to your personal and professional development. We have separated case and personal supervision as we believe that our Social Workers should be given dedicated time to focus on their own development, as well as their caseloads. We offer our Social Workers a variety of training packages that include Practice Educator programmes, Achieving Best Evidence programmes and PAMs.

Our other benefits include a competitive salary between £39,120 – £42,137, a relocation package of up to £8,000, generous annual leave entitlement (28 days plus Bank Holidays), local government pension scheme and agile working.

You must be a qualified social worker with current SWE registration and substantial post qualification experience. We are looking for committed enthusiastic workers that know good practice and have great mentoring and leadership skills.

We have a position available in the following location:
Cambridge City Team – currently based in Shire Hall, central Cambridge but shortly moving to refurbished premises in Trumpington.

Senior Practitioners will have a reduced caseload to ensure that they can support the Team Manager and the Team. They will also line manage staff within the team.
